How to open the tail of 8 GB log files using Notepad++ in Windows?

I have a Java application, I have many logs. The log size is over 200 MB. How to open a big file, for example over 200 MB? Are there some tool to handle it?

If it is only viewing and not editing such large files then you should take a look onto the open source Multi-Platform log viewer klogg.

Notepad++ now has a plugin called BigFile that works great for this. Once installed go to Plugins->BigFiles->Open BigFile.

LogViewPlus can open and analyze gigabytes of log file data in a few seconds. It's built for large data sets that would exceed the limits of most text editors.

Try CMtrace from Microsoft. Used with configuration manager but works for all types of text files. Notepad++ is not bad either. Reply reply
